Lara lives with her technical assistant named Bryce and a maid named Hilary. In Venice, the Illuminati are searching for the key to combining a mysterious artifact.
Manfred Powell believes the group is close to finding the artifacts, but doesn't know exactly where they are.
Lara's father, long lost Lord Richard Croft, is presumed dead and has suddenly appeared in a dream. Lara awakens to the mysterious ticking of a clock that prompts her to consult her father's friend, Wilson.
At Wilson's, Lara meets Alex West, the man who had looted the cemetery. Lara asked Wilson for the time and then put Powell in touch. Powell felt that he did not recognize the clock when shown from several photos.
That night, an armed group raids Lara's home, steals the watch, and takes it to Powell. The next day, there is a mysterious letter from Lara's father saying that the clock is the key to the artifact. If until that clock is misused, then the whole city can be destroyed.
