In Japan specifically has a historical myth about the Nine-Tailed Fox Spirit called Kitsune. Kitsune (狐, , IPA: [kitsu͍ne] ( listen)) is the Japanese term for a fox. In Japanese folklore, foxes are often featured in various stories as intelligent creatures whose magical abilities become more perfect as the fox gets wiser and older.
